Flat tyre, indeed.... But maybe even more of a broken axle?
Could be. These tires had a large sidewall though and the left doesn't look very high either. The rim seems damaged too. Perhaps the suspension failed.
Look at that tire, the weight carried, and the center of gravity. Fella should be happy he got it to the side of the road without further damage.
