We needed to stop fascism.
You, the apologist, insisted we needed to run a candidate who could not, would not, and when empowered, did not act to stop fascism. We told you it would result in a Trump victory, to run Biden. We told you that if Harris didn't completely pivot from the policies of the Biden era, Trump would win. You ignored us. You berated us. You called us trolls, or bots, or schills or Russians, when we told you that the strategies the Democrats were employing would hand the government to the fascists.
Instead of being able to accept that criticism of the systematic approaches of Democrats, you make it personal. You make it about what we, as individuals, are doing. If we voted, how we voted: but you never address the core criticism. Biden as candidate was never going to win that election. Because if how he governed. Harris had a chance to pivot, chose not to, and as a result, here we are.
By making this about personal choice instead of the Democrats, as a system, you are using the same tactics corporations have used to stop and stall any progress on climate change, or like with recycling, you out it in the individual, not the system to reform. This is a guaranteed failure mode. You can not effect change by making this about individual choice. Because it's not. It's about systems and if they do it do not respond to the electorate.
Voters as individuals to the electorate are like rocks in a land slide. Individual rocks might be hard, very hard even, like how in a conversation people can be convinced of A, B or C, or might be rational. But when an entire mass of rocks moves together, their behavior is entirely different, more like a fluid or something altogether else than when observing individuals. Electorates, voters en masse, don't behave like voters individually do.
We're not here because Trump was some amazing candidate, or because he got anyone other than those whom were always going to vote for him. Democrats handed this country to fascism precisely because of the excuse you keep defending. And by continuing to do the thing that you are an apologist and defender of this fascist regime.
Who is we/us here
There it is liberals who opposed you.. the opposite… they are the real enemies.
Democrats are the people you’d claim as enemies before your ever recognize conservatives as such…
You will call all liberals “apologists” rather than doing anything to further a liberal cause…
So Yea call me an apologist as we live in trump’s world, your world.
Keep saying YOU YOU YOU while you never specify who! You keep in it and we all suffer.
By all means keep showing the world how little you’ve ever accomplished and how little you ever will accomplish…
… this is the pitiful face of a so called liberal resistance…
Someone who can’t even face a single comment in Lemmy let alone change things… fucking pitiful
All you offer is cynical drivel. There's not anything worth responding to in what you've written.
My enemy is, and always has been, those who either implicitly or explicitly, and yes, even accidentally supportive of fascism.
If you are placing the blame for the resurgence of Trump on the 2024 voter and not the Democratic party, you are a supporter of fascism. You did this. And its what you, the person I'm replying to, are doing. The pitiful one is you, but history is going to see this. History, even now, recognizes the role your kind of apologism played in bringing fascism to the US.
“If you are not placing blame on the dem party… you support fascism”
That right there… just fucking stop.
You support inanity at the expense of everyone because you’re too fucking stupid to understand facism and politics in general.
