Ah, no. If you had some reading comprehension you would have seen and understood that when I said "...the getting his ass beat part" meant exactly that. It made me smile that an asshole who beat a woman (in this case in public) got his just rewards. You also said "Even though the guy deserved this" so you kinda self-cancelled your argument.
Retribution, not violence. If it was violence that made them happy, they would be happy that the woman was beaten too.
So I would not say you got everything 100% correctly, no.
