Exposition's really difficult in comic format. People don't really want to read a full page of text when they're reading comics, so you got to find some ways to at least give it some visual flair...

I love order of the Stick and followed it for a long time, but there was a point where I just wished it was presented as a novel

Dinosaur comics is the master of text to lack of visuals. Subnormality us another text heavy strip that I used to read.
