Childish: Accepting that the current system is insufficient and a massive undertaking is necessary if you have any morals whatsoever even if you personally aren't affected right now.
Mature: fuck you, got mine, I'm entitled to your vote ๐ท
Childish: Listening to the argument to vote for a candidate who checks none of your boxes and deciding that this time enoughs enough, because that lizard is committing a genocide.
Mature: Upon hearing the long list of reasons people won't vote for your candidate, shut your ears and claim they require a perfect candidate who will create world peace.
Childish: Remembering the many promises the Dems have broken and requiring some sort of actual guarantee they will take action.

I always say the maturity cult in western society is just fetish. Ultimately it have little to do with actual maturity and more with conforming to capitalist society and being good drone.
Relatedly the constant talk of "nuance" which is also just a way to whitewash the shitty system we have, without actually providing any nuance (the nuance right now is that Israelis are committing a genocide, but the palestinians sometimes throw rocks at the soldiers killing them, so its not so black and white again).
Real maturity isn't to do fuckall and real nuance would be to applaud hamas despite their fucked up politics.
