And they keep making it about innovation and how people can bounce ideas better in person when in reality you only get to decide if you want to sit or squat if they tell you to crap...

Nah, the default is anarchy. Like a group of friends, you come up with implicit roles, and there might be a louder voice but no one gives orders

No, humans have instinctive hierarchical/tribal behavior. You don't want to piss off the louder voice who is powerful.

Btw, we are made for social groups of about 100 people (tribes).
