If it’s running off an SD card then it’s very likely the SD card is broken. It’s better to run a pi off a USB SSD drive. Hope you have backups. Good luck either way.

I’m building a batteries included desktop OS based on NixOS. A bit like ZorinOS, ChromeOS or Mint but with NixOS as a base. It’s a bit ambitious and still in an early stage, but it’s been great fun for me using the Nix package manager as a solid tool to build stuff. I recently did a bare metal migration from Gitea to Forgejo using NixOS, maybe this info is useful if you use SQLite (which I believe is the default): the SQLite database filename for Gitea is gitea.db and for Forgejo it’s forgejo.db so I had to do a rename. Before renaming I ended up with an empty Forgejo instance. Either way I hope you figure it out in the end. Good luck!
I use Obsidian, you have mentioned it and it’s not self hosted, but for me that depends on how you look at it. I use it in a folder that’s synced to Nextcloud, so I consider the data self hosted markdown files. The viewer, i.e. the Obsidian app is not self hosted, but I consider that just a client used to view the data so it doesn’t really bother me.
