protondb is great! you can even link your steam library to get a quick and rough overview over how well it'll work.

very affirming to see an admin that seems to be genuinely liked ^^

Thank you! I already saw the last update post, very useful to better understand how everything works here.

I also already subscribed to a bunch of communities just going off of their name, and now that you're pointing it out, it will be very interesting to see the differences between them from instance to instance. Probably a lot more diverse than on centralized platforms. I'll definitely check these two out too, thanks!

On sorting: There's a sorting help that explains the differences.

What up, y'all :)

I had an eye on the fediverse for a certain time now and have finally decided to make accounts and actually participate. I never used much social media (if you can even call the fediverse that, feels like the word has been ruined) so i guess it's gonna be a bit of a bumpy start but what can you do.

I'm mostly interested in Linux, FOSS and system administration related topics (having the time of my life right now configuring my setup and writing silly scripts for all kinds of stuff) with a novice-level interest in networking and cybersecurity (not that i'm very advanced in the aforementioned topics, lol).

If you've got some good tips on easy to miss communities or just fediverse advice in general, feel free to share, i appreciate it! Glad to be here :)

side note: i just figured out cowsay has alternative designs so please enjoy this ascii llama:
