There are certain sites which terminate your sessions after a while. For example, banking sites or most government portals. In such situations, the auto fill function is very handy.

In my opinion this is not very intuitive. A drop down in the settings menu would be more obvious to users.

I am on Lemmy.zip and the admins are very transparent on the funding as they have set up an Open Collective page, and they are also very receptive to user suggestions and feedback.

Many of the lemmy apps that are still in development are not released on any of these stores.

I have most of the Android apps installed, but the two I keep switching between are Connect and Thunder. Both devs keep pushing out updates to the apps periodically and are very responsive to user feedback.

There are a lot of options for Lemmy, but beware they still need to mature a bit. The two apps I keep using the most are Thunder and Connect for Lemmy. Lots of users swear by Liftoff but I find the aesthetics a bit lacking for me. There's also Lemming which is the most barebones but has a great UI for something that has only had a couple of alpha releases. Most if not all of these are available to download from Github.

I am one of the 369 (nice) who signed up. I was originally on beehaw but after they took the decision to defederate from a couple of other instances (for which in my opinion they gave a very well thought out reason), I wanted to have an account on another instance (blame it on my FOMO). I am not a very technical user but really enjoy reading well thought out posts like these, so really appreciate the write up! From the tone of the post, I think you are a very considerate and ethical person and am happy that I chose this instance! Jerboa allows multiuser switching so I can keep switching both my accounts. The app still crashes when clicking community links which should hopefully be fixed soon. I am still figuring out my way in the fediverse, and want to thank you for all you do for us! 🙂
