Ah yes proper fueling is something I never actually do on purpose. Definitely need to come up with a routine that includes that. It definitely does feel counter intuitive that slow runs help you run farther faster.

Yeah I’m sure my real max is higher. Going by my age, it’s 184. But pretty sure I can hit 200. So I guess I should make it 200, but i haven’t hit that in a long time. Figured using 194 is better than 184.

I have an Apple Watch so cant do the lactate threshold thing.

Sounds good. Just did another 5K keeping my average at 148bpm. 10-minute/mile pace. Relatively fast cadence. My main method of slowing down is lowering my stride but I think I’m keeping the same cadence as my faster runs. I guess time will tell if this is working.

I can’t figure out how many episodes I watched in one session… but I finished Vinland saga in one weekend. Nothing TOO crazy but I feel like that’s all I did that weekend. It’s only 8 hours between two days I guess but it felt like much longer.

Great show. I finished that a few months ago. Definitely underrated. I’ve seen it recommended on Reddit a few times so not underground at all, but definitely a bit under appreciated. Animation is gorgeous for most of it and the whole thing is so eerie.

Oh that’s right. I hope it helps it out a bit. Honestly it would be amazing if YYH got the HxH treatment

Thanks. Yeah I read about that. I suppose I should convert them to gibberish first. If it’s a free service I’ll do that. Otherwise im content just deleting them normally (with automated software). I used Redact and something else last night but I think the free version of Redact only lets u delete the last month.

I’m a casual runner. Not very consistent. In 2022 I was running more and aimed for speed for 1-4 miles usually. But my heart rate was always in zone 5. 180+. Some runs were 90% in zone 5; obviously not safe.

So lately I’ve gotten back into running and I’d like to get close to what I was doing 4 years ago, but with a safer heart rate. I’m assuming I can simply run very slow 11-minute miles and keep my heart rate below 160. But perhaps you have some experience or advice on how to maximize efficiency? I’ve seen experienced runners doing sub 8 minute miles for 10 miles with an average of 140bpm. That’s so out of reach for me right now. I’m 36 and my max HR is currently 194 based on recent activity I guess.

Interesting. I wouldn’t be surprised if the conclusion is true, but they should’ve adjusted the carbs proportional to body weight. And the whole distance covered changes things. Also it just makes sense that a smaller athlete (assuming based on averages) would be able to endure longer.

Yeah r/offmychest is really bad and I went over to the true version.

Interestingasfuck is terrible and there’s one called intrestingasfuck.

It used to be power mods that were bad and now it’s a combo of humans and bots

Good for me then lol. I don’t really read manga so I usually miss out on a lot of stuff that gets omitted for the adaptation. I’ll add these other two to my watchlist. :)

Trigun and One Punch Man are good recommendations but I feel like both are super popular and highly rated. I will say that I think Trigun is better than Bebop though.

Yeah not sure I heard of this one. Netflix is weird with its anime marketing.

Added them to my watchlist but I’m gonna be honest that art style for akagi/kaiji is unappealing to me

So recently I had an anime watch party and we were browsing anime to watch and I came across Pluto. Admittedly I’m only 2 episodes in but so far it’s SO solid. And I’m just surprised I had never heard of it and it came out 3 years ago. Especially since it’s a reimagining of Astroboy and everyone’s heard of that…

Another one I had surprisingly never heard of but so far seems solid is Level E written by Yoshihiro Togashi. My favorite anime is YYH and I loved HxH so how come I hadn’t heard of Level E until now? Again, only 2 episodes in but seems legitimately good and it’s by a wildly successful creator.

What’s an anime you didn’t expect much of because it seems lesser known, but turns out to be very good? I mean like, not only do u like it but ur surprised the general public - casual anime fans aren’t aware of it.

Yeah like everyone else here… Venting about how shitty Reddit is. In the last 2 years I’ve been getting 7-day bans every few months for the dumbest things. Seriously ridiculous how relatively unoffensive my comments are. Half of which were bot bans. This last time I decided to use my alt account during a ban and got my main account permanently banned. Submitted an appeal but I don’t have high hopes and even if they lift it, fuck them. Not to mention individual sub bans for simply joining other subs or having a link to my OnlyFans on my profile. I’ve had enough.
