The quality of education at college and university is in free fall.

I mean, if north american streets could look like picture 1, that would already be a huge step.

People saying FF is slower: like how much slower? are we taking like 14 millisecond slower? Cause everything seems pretty instantaneous here. Maybe its because i'm old enough to remember DSL and 56k internet, but I think FF os crazy fast and even if Chrome would be 25% faster I wouldn't switch to evil google for that.

Wasn't Alex Jones caught watching trans porn or something? Between this and that, you can wonder if there's anything real in these people's life. Must be hard to always pretend.

After months of waiting, I finally got myself an instance with Libre Cloud. I was expecting basic file storage with a few goodies but boy, this is soooo much more. I am amaze by how complete this is!!! Apps let me configure my instance to fit everything I need, my workflow is now crazy fast and I can finally say goodbye to gdrive, gsuite, trello, calendar, etc. All of this, with 1tb while not giving any of ma data to some evil business for... 10$ cad a month!? Can't believe this is not what every organisation are using.

That's not really fair to Crowder. He's also a misogynist and racist piece of shit.

I've previously composed for different project, video, play, etc. but never for a game. I got an opportunity and they asked me to send draft of metal tracks so I recorded a few things overs the past 2 weeks. I'm looking for any kind of feedback that could help me. In you opinion, are these too fast, slow, complicated, simple? What are you favorites? I'm more of a casual gamer... Please try to stay constructive with you comments, Reddit will take care of the bashing. Thanks!

US's biggest problem IMO is undereducation. Lots of people seems to lack basic intellectual auto-defense skill. It's been a problem for a long time, but given how easy AI makes it to create disinformation, the shit will eventually hit the fan and even the GOP will be beging for a minimal education cursus to fix the mess they created.

Personnaly, I'm really enjoying it. You can interact without the Reddit toxicity. I miss a few specialized communities but I can live without it.

We are REQUIRED to use outlook at my job, along with all the MS bullshit. I've changed my Thunderbird interface to make it look exactly like outlook, synced my calendars, and kept using it for the past year or so. They have no clue. I hate Microsoft with passion, I will spent hours of my free time to find ways to be out of their ecosystem if I need to, and I usually manage to do so.

I'm always amaze by the fact that all these streaming platform do is give you access to others content ( they dont create shit), but they get to keep 98.7% of the revenue, because.

Yep, interactions are definitely becoming more toxic. Indeed it starts to feel like youtube. I adopted Reddit at fisrt because of how friendly the community felt. That was 8-9 years ago and that time is clearly gone. Lemmy is nice, I hope it will keep growing.

I've been using the Google Office suite for the past 10 years and been looking for an alternative for a while. Degoogling is a hard process. I mostly use the office suite and the files storage. I teach in college and Univ, so I need to be able to access my files and presentations from different computers. I curently have 200gb storage and would maybe need an extra 200.

I have been able to try Nextcloud with the office app and, appart from a few speed issues, it was working really well. But the free accounts I manage to get is limited to 2gb and their main services seems to be buisnesses focus, and not for single users like me. I'm looking for a cheap, easy to setup cloud solution, that would allow me to use the online office suite, read audio and video files that are stored on my cloud, and maybe do web hosting to transfer my site. Can someone point me to that kind of service? Thanks

So, I was trying to use the official "web app" for Lemmy, and, once again, it's just a link to Github. I'm no programmer and I just want to use the app, but have no clue what all those files are for. The tutorials on YouTube are like 1 hours long and are intended for programmers. It kind of happens more and more (links to github) and it gets me anxious every time. I am not a digital idiot at all, but this lacks information. Thanks!
