Reasonable advice all around!

Out of curiosity, do you personally think Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary is worth five times the price of the stock lens? I mean: does the quality improve proportionally?

Would the pictures generally also be about 5x better than the kit RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM?

Thanks for helping thoroughly!

Also, what do you think about EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS? I was told it's one of the best lenses for ASP-C cameras in general. Would it be great with an adapter?

I'm talking about that great Sigma lens that is Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary. I feel like I'd love to have it but since it and the camera don't have the Image Stabilization, it might be an obstacle, what do you think?

I'm not sure how much I'd be shooting in the dark, but probably quite a bit. Is it a big deal overall in your view?

Does Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM have better image quality overall compared to RF-S 18–150mm f/3.5–6.3 IS STM?

Thank you. Great recommendations! What one or a few important things do you think I'd not have access to with the stock 18-45 lens?

So the Sigma lens that is of high image quality but it doesn't have Image Stabilization. Would that be a concern with R50 without IBIS?

And is the 18-150mm lens much better than the basic kit 45 one?

I've also been recommended a relatively cheap Sigma lens that is of high image quality but it doesn't have Image Stabilization. Would that be a concern with R50 without IBIS?

Thanks, great insights. Could you recommend one or a few prime lenses for 600usd or so? For R50. And is it worth upgrading to a full frame camera or would R50 be great for a long time in photography in general?

Awesome advice, thank you so much.

One more thing: I've noticed you've recommended lenses without Image Stabilization, isn't that very important to get for R50? since it lacks IBIS

I’m totally new to photography and want to get my first camera. I’ll mainly be using it for nature photography while hiking and traveling.

My only focus is on photos of the highest possible quality.

My budget is around $600, and I’ll also need essential accessories, but don't know what I'd need, like a lens?

Not open to refurbished, as I'm buying in Vietnam.

I'm in the process of transitioning from my current career in teaching to the NLP career via the Python path and while I've been learning on my own for about three months now I've found it a bit too slow and wanted to see if there's a good course (described in the title) that's really worth the money and time investment and would make things easier for someone like me?

One important requirement is that (for this purpose) I've no interest in exclusively self-study courses where you are supposed to watch videos or read text on your own without ever meeting anyone in real-time.

I know of preplexity, Bing chat, web search on Poe, kagi. Not sure if Gemini 1.5 Pro uses search?

Curious about what model is best to use on my RTX 3080 + Ryzen 5 3600 since I've just found out about this.

I'm looking to get my first subscription of a machine learning model and I've been using POE for a while but I'm not sure if paying for it would be better than paying for a GPT subscription. I almost never use them to generate images, mostly for help with my business and some programming.

I also want my wife to be able to use the same account when I start paying for it.

I'm not sure what the benefits of each are and which would outweigh.

I've researched the topic and I understand that the general advice is that it's best to learn on your own. However, I'd like to see Lemmy's recommendations regarding websites where you can book programming (Python/R) sessions with a personal tutor online, ideally if you have used the service yourself. I mostly need it to maintain my motivation and learn regularly instead of sporadically.

As a lifelong Windows user I've just for the first time switched to Ubuntu and I'm learning how to navigate the system but I haven't found an easy way to update my Carbon's X1 Gen 6 BIOS from its hard disk and would appreciate any advice.

I'd be also happy to hear what I should do as a newcomer to Ubuntu to make my experience with it better and have an easier time overall.
