1/4" piano wire point, random copper pipe ball peen hammered, candle wax buffed finish except for the rightmost one which is tung oil. Took one spindle turning project previously. Following Mike Peace's video.

That's why I have one. Well two. One is for spare parts. I mostly use the lathe, bandsaw and jointer. I'm working out of a one car garage so this saves a lot of space. But the table saw is way too unsafe so I got a dedicated one.

I also have a standalone Shopsmith Pro Power Planer that I abuse.

Extras are to give away.

Generally, making little guide holes/dents — make it easier to start a drill bit where I want, transfer a point through a template, make an indent for my lathe tailstock live center.
