Like this symbol was largely obsolete except as an honorific title for "Habibi Che" and no-one else. I was using the symbol after the title of Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, though, which may or may not have been a faux pas.

When I found out about this "habibi" symbol, I remarked on how it looked more like a Chinese character than Arabic writing. Supposedly that was "because of the Silk Road", i.e. that this glyph came to Arabic from Chinese.

Listen, i blame the Arabs 1000+ years ago for not accounting Habibi Che in their script goblin-dont-care

Jokes aside, i'm not sure but i think i've seen this type of "splitting words" in calligraphy before? I could be misremembering and butchering it, but it's still bad hence my note lol. Although i did just think, if i use the Andalusi font instead, i might be able to make it look slightly more natural

I do "splitting words" in my calligraphy as well. Just teasing.

You could have the yaa initial segment straight to make it look closer to the glyph

That is so weirdly specific that it feels like it could've been actual history

ever read something that makes you think "oh, ok now i understand how people used to believe in gods/angry nature spirits" or whatever?

this is the kind of thing that made people believe in inherited memories

I would love to spend a day in your brain (not in a creepy way but to watch the logical patterns that emerge from your knowledge on linguistics)

I feel like I should mention that this "Habibi Che" dream also involved:

  1. Me learning about some sort of referendum in Gaza following the Battle of Gaza in 2007;^[There is unfortunately no shortage of reasons to have dreams involving Gaza.]
  2. Some sort of ripoff of SCP-035 going around killing people in my local area;^[Probably because I recently bought a creepy white mask that bears an extremely passing resemblance to SCP-035.]
  3. A false awakening immediately followed by grotesque eye-related body horror;^[Probably because I've been thinking about the Grenadian Revolution lately, and a popular Grenadian song from that era called "Human Rights" has a reference to Matthew 7:3 in it: "before you try to take the mote out of your brother's eye, you have to first let the beam out of your own"]
  4. Some really weird pregnancy fetish stuff right at the end.^[Maybe because I'll soon be hosting a watch party for a drama miniseries in which a character getting caught looking at preggo porn is a major plot point; maybe because I've been thinking about Missy R. distancing herself from Tokyo Fetish Mew as an example of self-crit and personal growth; or maybe it's just that various vaguely pregnancy and/or fetish related things just coalesced like that. Probably all three! You know how dreams are.]

So like……… Do you really want to spend a day in my brain? I mean, I won't stop you, but you're gonna see some shit, is all I'm saying.

I think I would be slightly entertained by the other stuff while trying to focus on the linguistic thoughts. But since it is a very invasive thing to look into someone’s mind I would never do it without enthusiastic consent. Then I just need to wait on the technology to catch up
