Seeing Bryan Cranston go from a goofy dope of a dad to an unhinged violent drug dealer was quite the tone shift. That's how it was for me. I was a pretty big MITM watcher way back when, the channel it played on was one of the only ones I could receive with an antenna.
That one's funny because Breaking Bad kinda undergoes that transition in itself

Bob Newhart. They basically rebooted his own show, and ended the second show with the "it was all just a dream" gag with him back in the first show.
