From what I've heard about Russian commercial ships they're probably not worth a tin penny. Haven't been maintained since the 80s at best.

Yeah, but right now they have free oil that a lot of countries need. What is Russia gonna do, say you stole their oil? It wasn't their ship, so who knows who's oil it is, so whatever country finds it should hang onto it, finders keepers style.
