Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.

Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.

This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Don't take yourselves too seriously. Serious posts go to !anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Rules

  1. If you post images with text, endeavour to provide the alt-text

  2. If the image is a crosspost from an OP, Provide the source.

  3. Absolutely no right-wing jokes. This includes "Anarcho"-Capitalist concepts.

  4. Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

  5. No bigotry whatsoever. See instance rules.

  6. This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

  7. No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.

A nation so democratic, that they intentionally designed their system to have electors vote on your behalf because they believed the common man was too stupid to properly participate in democracy.

And then they never changed that winning formula!

Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?!

hmm UK, US, France, Canada and a whole lot more fit that bill. I thought Orwell was trying to warn us, but in reality he was a prophet.

wake up babe, new religion just dropped

[–] lugal@sopuli.xyz 4 points 2 days ago

It's not that he was a prophet. It's that people used 1984 as a manual

It's clearly not the US because we've been a police state for a long time.

America? The UK? Germany?

Country name includes "Democratic Republic"

Looks Inside

Literal police state

Conclusion: Shut the fuck up about democracy and republics if you want to have one.

Capitalism breeds fascism 🤷

[–] tobebannedbygaymods@lemmy.zip -2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

not necessarily , most fascist countries are actually socialist

[–] Semjeza@fedinsfw.app 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Really? I'll bite. Name 3, and please note that:

  1. Fascism and authoritarian are different
  2. I'll need your definition of socialism, and "because the PRC said so" doesn't change the material conditions of the nation. Just as the DPRK being called that doesn't make it democratic.
[–] tobebannedbygaymods@lemmy.zip 1 points 7 hours ago

Israel WWII Germany WWII Italy also the west used to call the al-baath party a "fascist party" because its a socialist party

[–] Collatz_problem@hexbear.net 3 points 2 days ago
