Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).

Block or ignore posts, comments, and users that irritate you in some way rather than engaging. Report if they are actually breaking community rules.

Most 196 posts are memes, shitposts, cute images, or even just recent things that happened, etc. There is no real theme, but try to avoid posts that are very inflammatory, offensive, very low quality, or very "off topic".

Bigotry is not allowed, this includes (but is not limited to): Homophobia, Transphobia, Racism, Sexism, Abelism, Classism, or discrimination based on things like Ethnicity, Nationality, Language, or Religion.

Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

I am reaching the age where I don't know what weird slang and acronyms mean anymore. Later childish losers, hello mature winners.

The meme is talking about asmr audios, in this case a f4tf (female performer for trans female listener). These audios usually show a scene where the performer calls the listener a "good girl". The meme shows the awkwardness of the OP when the performer calls her a good girl.

Kinda shocked Smorty vehemently denies being a good girl.

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 4 hours ago

i..... iduno water u talkin about.,, what would i be baiting for?

yea nu i.... dont like bein called that... or rather - mayb i do like it..... but im not ready for ut yet.... it feels too incorrect to me still, like peeps sayin "u got such nice blue hair" but i got red hair - or thats what hair i see at least...,........ hold on...... oh!!! i got one!!!

🎣

a bass!

anywayanyway- when u said sweetie,,...,,.... i really liked thattttt vuz i imagined u kinda - kinda like leaning in with ur hands on ur knees kinda looking downwards upon me,,. yesyes that sounds more fun and specific.... while remaining generic enough but in a good way- where its comfy ~ ~ ~

u did it! u found a glorious mew word i like <3 <3

i will use it now on others in hope they feel similar to how i do now >v< (cuz- cuz i feel kinda warm and... entertained, but also willing to give.... while also not being too excited... thats good! i wanna have others also feel that ~ ~)

thank u <3

oh yea, also, my name is maria now, i changed it a buncha months ago here in this post officially, but sadly some popular clients continue to show the initial name. i set it to "maria [she/her]" some time ago, but clients like "infinity" still display the raw username..... whivh is sad- but oh well---

self slander, thou is a good girl, guilty as charged

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 4 hours ago

nunununununununununuuuu >o< nuuu!!!!!! or,..... hmm--

iguess... iguess.. i cant stop u from saying that,.,..

umm--.... thank you....?,.... iduno what to say here u kno?...

its kinda like... i dont even really kni what a "good girl" is..... like.... "Good" is such a generic positive adjective. girl is preddi specific tho. so im a... generic positive girl? i dont think thats the intent... im obv overanalyzing stuff here - i jus find it interesting how those words r used,... any what they might actually refer to

today on matrix i talked to a peep about how mayb i dont like hearing that cuz it feels kinda impersonal - and it would be improved if the allegations were more specific - but mayb that would feel exposing..... not sure bout that tho.... really duno- aaanywayyyyy---

i am willing to accept charges placed on me for my sins
