This does not look like a peace prize

[–] human@slrpnk.net 36 points 2 days ago

Reminds me of this somehow

[–] Saapas@piefed.zip 34 points 2 days ago

Zombie award

[–] festus@lemmy.ca 25 points 2 days ago

It looks super creepy. Malicious compliance from the artist maybe?

The Bob Page award for excellence in exploitation

[–] humorlessrepost@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

I thought I already beat that guy inside a pyramid.

[–] Brocon@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The Donald Trump Award for fondling Bills Balls. How fitting.

[–] Sculptor9157@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 days ago

The hands are to scale!

My mind saw this as a triple facepalm

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 days ago

It's supposed to represent humanity trying to escape the hell that these people have created for us.

[–] WanderingThoughts@europe.pub 5 points 2 days ago

Probably something old prototype from the back of storage.

[–] BanMe@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Where will you be when jock itch strikes?

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 83 points 2 days ago (1 children)

New York City writer Fran Leibowitz said it best.

"You've never met anyone as stupid as Donald Trump. You just haven't."

William T. Kelley, one of his professors at Wharton Business School, where the orange one "earned" his bachelor's degree, also seemed to have summed it up quite well. According to close friends, he said on numerous occasions:

Donald Trump was the dumbest goddamn student I ever had!

Whether this is true can no longer be objectively verified, as Kelley has passed away - but it is supported by the fact that Trump's grades are unavailable - they are kept secret, which in itself says it all...

My own thought is that he views these tokens through the eyes of a mobster. They are tokens of obedience, loyalty and subservience.

When people kiss his ass he loves it because they are acknowledging his power over them. But he doesn’t respect them and would turn on them in an instant.

[–] human@slrpnk.net 19 points 2 days ago

I agree. It's not the praise itself. It's that he made you do it.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Yes except Trump is an incompetent mobster. He has no code, no plan, no loyalty, no allies, no nothing. He’s a paper mobster.

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

They're participation trophies

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 39 points 2 days ago (2 children)

as it turns out, trump loves participation trophies

[–] alias_qr_rainmaker@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

don't be ridiculous! they make sure the trophy says "#1 CHAMPION AND WORLD'S MOST HANDSOME MAN"

[–] Knock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's what he received from Wharton.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 days ago

Indicative of the actual value of a business degree.

[–] Ininewcrow@piefed.ca 27 points 2 days ago (2 children)

The stupid one is not Trump ... chances are he knows how dumb this all is.

The stupid ones are the people who designed and organized all this, the American people who just take it as normal and all the supposed professionals everywhere in journalism and news agencies who just report non critically.

He isn't the idiot .... we are.

Stupidity-ception

He keeps doing stupid things ... we keep accepting it ... so he does even more stupid things ... we keep accepting more

You are right ... we're all stupid all around

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 2 days ago

we are.

No thanks on the nationalist "we". Speak for yourself.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago (2 children)

He might have taken the trophy and the idea to call American Football different from FIFA, but what he now does is dangling this idea in front of the NFL and hoping for bribes.

[–] llacook@leminal.space 6 points 2 days ago

This is exactly it.

[–] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 5 points 2 days ago

Entirely coincidental that he wants the stadium in Washington to be named aftet him.

[–] Manjushri@piefed.social 22 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It has to be gold though. Give him a silver trophy and he'll probably send ICE after you and your family.

Gold leaf covered

[–] Damage@feddit.it 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I wish I could meet today all the Americans who made fun of me 20 years ago for having Silvio Berlusconi as a prime minister.

[–] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

But now you have Meloni the actual fascist. Great job.

[–] Damage@feddit.it 4 points 2 days ago

Eh, until next election. We're still scheduled to have those here.

[–] MareOfNights@discuss.tchncs.de 17 points 2 days ago

New tactic for Ukraine dropped: Build Trump statues in likely drone paths. Once one goes down you'll have his support.

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago

On brand for the corrupt FIFA to give an award to corrupt Donny.

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

104 Super Bowls are going to played in 2026 and the AmeriKans elect a clown.

[–] Aeri@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

When this news first reached me I was like "There's no such thing as a FIFA peace prize, is there...?"

[–] randompasta@lemmy.today 5 points 2 days ago
[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Oh he is stupid. Both of them actually. The difference being the stupid one on the left is using his stupidity to destroy a nation for his leash holder

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 2 points 2 days ago

I can't NOT see that dumb fuck without a combover, just a dumb bald head. Just like the other. Just imagine, the guy on the left actually looks like the guy on the right from the face and back. He hates when you point that out. Look at him, reminds me of an old grama.

Sycophantino the fucking turd!

[–] Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That's why I've said Maduro is stupid too. He only needed to praise Trump and Trump would be giving Venezuelan fishing boats protective military escorts.

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago (2 children)

He's not selling out and bending over to the FOTUS, i wouldn't say he's stupid.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 5 points 2 days ago
[–] Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world -1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You can have pride and ethics and still be stupid.

If someone said, "Here's a million dollars to publicly praise Trump and after he's dead you can say whatever you want.", you wouldn't take the money? Especially if your family could use the money (Venezuela)?

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

You can have pride and ethics and still be stupid.

Yes they aren't mutually exclusive, but to say he is stupid because he isn't praising Trump is a bit of a stretch.

For the second part, I get what you're saying, but since im not a world leader it's different. I'm just some schmuck, if a government goes on to praise Trump there are far reaching consequences
