I had so much fun launching cars into the stratosphere with this glitch in freeroam back in the day wholesome

Here's another clip, car deformation physics go BRRR

The last Rockstar game I played before this was RDR2 and GTAIV makes an interesting contrast. "Guys, what if drugs? What if sex? What if gay? What if penis? What if woman had penis? What if domestic abuse? What if fat people?" EPIC SATIRE 2008 STYLE

also the war on terror I guess

I've played a lot of GTAV in the intervening years and GTAIV feels a lot more crass and mean than even that game. I just had a radio ad for mobility scooters, and you can probably guess what angle that took. Basically "abuse medicare to get a mobility scooter and force the American taxpayer to subsidise you being a disgusting fat slob" EPIC SATIRE

I'm 95% certain GTAVI's writing will be much better overall and that gamers will piss and moan that it's gone soft and woke

I would just do the swing set glitch for hours while watching Netflix. I love that you got that working for you. I’ll have to put in the work to do that again.

You just need to install GTAIV Complete Edition and install Fusion Fix on top of that so it's pretty simple (though I also used a mod that restores all the songs that have been cut from the game over the years)

IV didn't grab me as much as San Andreas did

I've always just really liked the beginning of GTA IV where Niko hops off a boat and lives in shitty apartments with his cousin while working for the Russian mafia and low level drug dealers. It begins to lose me when government agents and generic Italian mobsters enter the picture

Why?

Looking at the trajectory from RDR1 to RDR2

Edit: Wait, I just remembered GTA Online exists. If the writing in GTA Online's expansions is at all indicative of what we'll get in GTAVI it's gonna be the most annoying unfunny dogshit you've ever seen

GTA IV -> RDR1 -> GTA V.

I think RDR escapes a lot of the stuff because by setting it has to be a lot more grounded and all the societal ills of the time are, to a modern audience, incredibly clear cut as to bad vs. good.
