You can hate jews but hate muslims more. Does it make sense now?

This is how you know it’s all performance and in-grouping on the right. They collectively have zero foundational opinions about a subject until their tv sycophancy engages and they’re programmed into fresh hate machines

Yes, as a leftist it has been incredibly disheartening seeing so many good people get accused of anti-semitism because they speak up about the Palestinian Genocide all the while seeing the rightwing dive headfirst into normalizing genuine anti-semitism.

This is was the inveitable consequence of conflating Israel with judaism and then strangling genuine leftwing criticisms of Israel using that conflation.

Republicans support zionists for the same reason zionists and the nazi's cooperated, they don't want jewish people here. Plus christian nationalists and evangelicals get the added benefit of jewish people returning to Israel is part of the rapture and second coming of Christ. They support zionism not because they like jewish people, but exactly the opposite. Zionism in of itself is an antisemitic ideology.

You mean can’t decide if it’s okay to hate out loud.

Just fatuously praise Netanyahu as the greatest statesman since Reagan/Thatcher/Pinochet, and you get a free pass to do all the blood libels you want.

They hate Jews. But it’s convenient to keep some around to make it look like they don’t.

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 5 points 22 hours ago

They already hate them, they just want to vocalize it without consequences like the good old days

[–] tornavish@lemmy.cafe 2 points 20 hours ago

Jews? Meh. PEDOS? Put them in office!

It's a complex tapestry. They hate Jews in relation to Christians. They hate poor people in relation to first-world nations like Israel. And they hate Muslims in relation to everyone else (aside from a few of the really rich ones, I guess). So no wonder it gets a bit tangled for them.
