So in Dark Souls 2 there's this stone coffin on a beach next to an ogre...
Soulslike - Discussion, News, Memes
This is a community for discussion, news, and memes pertaining to the video game sub-genre "soulslike".
Given Lemmy's size, the definition of soulslike may be treated relatively loosely. While games like the numerous FromSoft titles, the recent Star Wars Jedi games, Lies of P, Nioh and similar games should be the focus, games that incorporate soulslike elements - like Hollow Knight and Blasphemous, for example - may also be discussed here.
Basic Lemmy-quette applies. Additionally, since flairs don't exist yet, please do make sure to include a marker to denote what game your post is about in square brackets for clarity's sake. An example could be:
[BB] This enemy is so difficult!
or
[DS1] Anyone struggling with the gargoyles?

To be pedantic, 2 ogres. But I always use it a few times/playthrough.
Yea, you're right. Couldn't remember if it was 1 or 2, so I gambled on my bad memory and lost
Haha no worries, I was just being dumb. I guess technically one is hiding behind the hill so you only see it when you're on the beach.
Credit to the /r/asktransgender folks for managing to give this person polite and helpful responses, they clearly have more self-control than the average internet community
Providing context of something the person already understands is kinda genius, even if the context is ridiculous.
Hum... Maybe it's like you have sorcerer stats but the game gave you a zweihänder instead of a staff at the start? You can't work like that! Gotta find the right equipment for your build!
Idk, I tried.
Nah, that analogy falls apart once you get the int-scaling ember...
Or does it...
It’s like when you take your time spent perfecting the most beautiful or handsome character in the character creator, you’ve actually thought it over and felt that this is the identity you want to play and be known as. Then it basically changes everything about it in the quest possible way and everyone knows you as this random thing generated for you and you can’t go back to the editor, because you never had a real choice of the random body you were given. Dysphoria isn’t just about gender, it’s about your identity. We can’t decide where we’ve come from but we can decide on where we’re going and how we move through life.
That's actually very to the point! So the comparison does work :)
Thankies, we have dysphoria and come to realize a lot of people have it, even cis people like those who want their body to be big and strong so they spend every ounce of energy in the gym or people who gets body mods. It’s sometimes (not always) dysphoria
Ah too bad. I would have got my 15 minutes of fame, if only it had been to explain it with Sonic the Hedgehog.
Go on...
Well, it all starts with Sonic and Knuckles having a quick one behind the shed after the episode where they get the stuff back in the thingamabob. Tails, we thought, was a happy bitailed fox, but somehow we also knew he dreamed to become a hedgehog one day. Or at least a porcupine or a pig with bad hair. Witnessing the scene broke something in him and he fully realised that he could not be happy and make another spiky animal happy with his physique (which was not necessarily true!)
so you know when youre ass and you just spent 2 hours on the first boss, just to proceed to get absolutely railed by katana guy over and over? thats kinda what it feels like.
