I mentioned liking the wicked movie once to my grandma and now she's always sending me wicked merchandise and she got me the dvd. It makes her happy and I don't want to make her feel bad but I can only eat so many boxes of wicked cereal. It weighs on me.

Id mention something else simple you like or are into. Sounds like shes just trying to support and show her love but only has one thing to go off of.

"i absolutely love mortgages that are paid off grandma, did I ever mention that?"

Nah seriously though, sounds like you've nailed it. A sweet gesture taken a little bit far.

You're grandma sounds nice, you should talk to her about more of your interests. You should probably ask what she finds interesting as well.

Casually mention how much you like money. How you enjoy looking at it, touching it and receiving it.

I have something similar with my mom. When she sees a certain popular painting, she thinks of me. The only problem is that I don’t really care about that painting, but an ex from high school loved it. My mom somehow just started associating it with me instead, and so if she gives me something with that painting printed on it, I still enjoy it, because now it reminds me of my mom and how she wants to do something nice for me.

Unspoken expectations are premeditated resentments.
