I know we're not supposed to anthropomorphize animals.... But it reaaaally looks like cato is trying to teach snek to eat

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 51 points 5 days ago

If that's a behavior they do to kittens, I can see that being the case.

If anything, it's the cat who's anthrop... uh... felynomorphizing the snek

“Not supposed to anthropomorphize animals”

Furries would like a word with you.

When this was posted on Reddit, people explained that the cat probably sees the snake as prey, and so brings it to the place where he/she eats prey.

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 25 points 4 days ago

That's a terrible explanation lol

I thought cats were scared of snakes and that’s why they jump from cucumbers.

[–] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

Cats are actually pretty good at dealing with snakes thanks to their quick reaction. Though it's not a guarantee.

Yeah but for every cat rule there is another one that goes I'm doing my own thing and swims in the sea something.

Like the video of a leopard seal trying to feed a diver a penguin and can't understand why he's not eating it.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 23 points 5 days ago (1 children)

if that's the video i'm thinking of, that was my uncle and he did not know he was supposed to be afraid of leopard seals.

[–] boydster@sh.itjust.works 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

May I ask for a link for this?

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 11 points 4 days ago

Fuck if I have it. My uncle was on a "Antarctic cruise", everyone else got out of the water and he didn't stop to think why. Up comes the leopard seal and he didn't do his prep work on going to Antarctica so he didn't think they were dangerous. Gets a really good close up video, sells it to natgeo because no one else is stupid enough to get that close to a leopard seal.

Can't find a video, gonna assume it's the video explaining this? Anyways found this article which was very cool to read: https://awesomeocean.com/guest-columns/natgeo-photographer-seal/

(Guessing its the same thing)
