Man = Featherless Biped

Woman = Feathered Biped? Featherless Equestrian? 🤷‍♂️

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago

Couldn't find a featherless chicken emoji so I had to go with the closest thing.

Some of those aren't really optional... I'd love to not menstruate, but I gotta wait for menopause for that. Not my choice to bleed for several days and get major cramps and back pain every month. It just happens.

I think it was more a commentary for trans women being women

Also old. And women who’ve had hysterectomies. And intersex women.

And women who are very underweight.

I had a hysterectomy. Kept the ovaries as to not start menopause. It was the best decision I have ever made in my life.

So technically I have my periods hormonally but don't bleed or feel pain, so there's that option if you don't plan on ever having kids.

If you can tolerate the birth control pill, take it continuously, skipping the placebo pills. I did this for years (at my doctor's direction) and never had to have a period. It was awesome. Unfortunately I had to go off the pill to start HRT for perimenopause and now aunt flo is back >:(

Taking the Pill has never really been something I considered since I'm not a fan of taking pills outside of medical necessity (exception for ibuprofen because pain sucks). I also kind assumed force blocking it permanently would be really bad for some health reason.

If it's not though and I can really just deleteit like that... Very much worth looking into. Useful to know!

My wife was on birth control and it triggered some "fat arm/leg" syndrome and she is piiiiiiiiiiiissed

[–] klemptor@startrek.website 1 points 1 week ago

Yikes, I'd be pissed too!

[–] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Fairly sure someone needs to identify as a women to be considered a women.

I don't get why you got downvoted for this. When I see a trans-looking or tomboish female-assigned-at-birth person, who in their most comfortable looks does not want to look like a girl and trying their best not to look as one, then it'd be bigoted of me to assume they identify as a woman or address them with "she".

Similary if I saw a trans-looking male-assigned-at-birth person with makeup and girl clothes for example, it'd be bigoted of me to assume that they identify as a man or would want me to be address them with "he".

In fact when nessecary and when it's almost obvious, I respectfully take the chance and call them "mam, and she" and they apprecaite it with a smile of approval and a happy-pitched voice in return because I repect people however they wish to identify themselves.

I want to know the viewpoints of someone who downvoted you.

Downvotes are intended for comments that are not relevant to the post or comment they are replying to. They aren't meant to be used for statements you disagree with.

Ops image never said you don't need to identify as a woman to be a woman, that's probably why people are downvoting
