Abolish the internet seems like the only way to restabilize global society. Real sorry that you'll have to go back to buying DVDs and only dating people in your neighborhood instead of strangers on the other side of the world but the butlerian jihad will demand some sacrifices.

Good old moderate incrementalism. And the top response is "we don't need to do that, we just need a war that kills of 30% of the population

They really are just Blue MAGA. "We need to turn back the clock to a time when America was still Great, like the Obama years."

[โ€“] barrbaric@hexbear.net 30 points 2 months ago

cap-think "People are mad that they can no longer afford bread or circuses, what should we do?"

porky-happy "Have you considered getting rid of the circuses entirely? That or maybe we just kill everyone?"

"Just abolish the internet and nobody will care about the fact that they can't afford car payments or rent under our system"

we just need a war that kills of 30% of the population

That's my solution too but it's a revolutionary civil war instead and probably more like 5%-10% while the rest get pushed either into their own territory that can be dealt with later or out to some island somewhere like the PRC achieved with the ROC.

Ctrl-F "uppity"

Oh, yeah, it's /r/neoliberal, all right.

But they are just being ironically terrible people. They totally are just ironically neoliberals not actually neoliberals..... What everyone on srd says whenever neoliberalism is called out as terrible

[โ€“] keepcarrot@hexbear.net 32 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Maybe acknowledge the hardships people are suffering and offering solutions that aren't obviously padding already rich portfolios or maintaining alliances?

[โ€“] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 21 points 2 months ago

no it's entirely their fault they ~~weren't born incredibly wealthy~~ haven't pulled themselves up with hard work

On the plus side, everything going to shit as people abandon our ideology kinda proves us right

Sleep deprivation can lead to intense hallucinations, make sure to get at least 6 hours

Where companies are allowed to operate as normal under capitalism, but must work together with the government in terms of goals/plans just like China. If Trump wants something, Big Tech will give it to him. "Apple, open a plant in Texas now or I will destroy your company" or him grabbing 10% of Intel.

hmmm

When brought within the orbit of the State, Fascism recognizes the real needs which gave rise to socialism and trade unionism, giving them due weight in the guild or corporative system in which divergent interests are coordinated and harmonized in the unity of the State

(from Mussolini)

there's some interesting history here that goes back to yellow socialism in the early 20th century. The problem is that because these nerds refuse to have any sort of awareness of class they see the state integrating capitalism into itself as socialism or communism. But obviously in America's case this is a nationalist, class collaborationist project that benefits the bourgeoisie and not internationalist and supportive of the revolutionary struggle of workers.

You'd think they'd be very happy about the imminent Chinese Century, but alas they are extremely butthurt

[โ€“] SmithrunHills@hexbear.net 24 points 2 months ago

This is the sub that unironically argues against raising the minimum wage because they believe it'll negatively impact black workers the most, right? Critically unserious people

No, neoliberals won so hard that in 2008 the economy had an integer overflow error on that caused the global financial crisis. This gives a false impression to anyone stupid enough to question the perfect system. We only know winning and will never see an ideology based around selfishness and looting society for your own personal benefit collapse.

I remember during the French protests against raising the retirement age these dorks were arguing that the entire pension system is a Ponzi scheme and old people shouldn't be allowed to retire early, instead they should work more and hopefully die without touching their pension.

Deeply selfish and unempathetic ghouls.

US moving from neoliberalism to neofascism must be like the end of the Soviet Union for them.

The parallel between how Fascism was all the methods of Colonialism returned to the core from the periphery and Neoliberalism was likewise all the methods of Neocolonialism returned to the core from the periphery always seemed very striking to me. It's really no wonder that when that failed to do what the Capitalists expected they just immediately pivoted back towards trying to do Fascism again after deciding that the problem with putting a flimsy human mask on the brutality and extraction had to be the "human mask" part instead of the brutality and extraction part.
