Kirk was actually a highly influential organizer with strong ties to the Trump admin, almost certainly including a direct line to Vance. He was a lot more than just another cracker podcaster.
They're likely looking in the wrong direction. I hear the right side has plenty of people who fit the description better. Maybe they could look that way instead
