Unfortunately due to increasing temperatures, they stick deep into winter nowadays....
Plus, since the winters are mild, more of the larva/eggs hatch, creating a positive feedback loop...

the sunsets are the only flaw -- i can literally feel myself getting more depressed and moodier when it's dark at like 7pm. the actual clock change is the fucking worst; last year i literally felt unable to get out of bed for two weeks right afterwards
