I remember an interview with Wil Wheaton (who had a somewhat difficult life while recording TNG) in which he said he would sometimes seek out the exact right corner of the set where you couldn't see the outside world anymore and pretending to be on the enterprise to escape.

Wil Wheaton is a treasure

I almost posted this yesterday, but a friend I was going to hang out with showed up early and I didn't get the chance, so thanks!

Yeah, I saw it and thought it was cool. I love hearing stories about the making of the shows.

This leads me to believe you and the other poster get your memes from the same source.

WHAT IS THE SOURCE? WHERE DO I GO TO MAINLINE THE MEMES?

[-] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago

Lol, but then you won't need me! I find them everywhere: reddit, tumblr, twitter, my google feed thing (whatever that app is called), imgur directly, random memes my wife sends me, etc.

A lot of memes seem to ciculate everywhere, so I'm sure Squid saw this one either on tumblr or elsewhere.

I know, I know. It's actually very rare, unless I've intentionally searched for something specific. 99% of my posting is from my phone, and I haven't checked reddit on mobile since switching to Lemmy.

A likely story! I'm not convinced. I still think there's a secret meme hangout where all the really great meme posters go to get their memes.

He knows too much. How shall we procede?

I was just about to tag you for this. They mustn't find out about the library.

Hell, I saw it earlier this week doing an image search for Trek corridors when I was making that Worf as Death opening doors meme. Small world.

That is cool!

I got to visit the set of Crossing Jordan once. It was... not like this. 🥱

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

Fun will now commence.
