Anyone got tips for dealing with a dry, itchy, back-of-the-throat cough? Other than a salt gargle. Yesterday's headache and lethargy are mostly gone but replaced by this insidious annoyance. Feels like it's been years since I've had a throat problem

Strepsils or other hard candy. I got a pack of Coles Butterscotch which have been great for the intubation throat.

Vitamin C for general immune system power.

I'll definitely look into this if the honey thing doesn't work. I remember strepsils from childhood...

You get honey and you put some on a teaspoon and flip it over onto your tongue (so it's trapped between your tongue and the spoon) and suck it like a lollipop.

Not gonna complain about this remedy. I've got some very thick honey that's hard to use as a spread so perfect for this very use.

Can agree with the honey-lemon-ginger drink, but also liquorice can work, as can a tea made of dried thyme leaves. I think the ancient Romans used thyme for sore throats. Gargle or sip.

Second the honey advice. Honey + lemon + ginger in a bit of hot water is my go to.

I've got jars and jars of honey that I can't get through so this sounds like the perfect excuse. Will go shopping for lemons and ginger tomorrow!
