A bbeg searching desperately for a cure for lycanthropy, so that he stops being a goody two-shoes every full moon, and ruining his plans.
wakes up from turning to find that he's released the heroes he captured, healed their wounds, mended their gear, and sent them off on their way with a few loaves of banana bread he baked for them "GOD DAMMIT"
Sort of a Jekyll and Hyde situation.
Except in this version, Dr Jekyll is less a severely irresponsible chemist and more of a medical doctor who likes baking and doesn't let bananas go to waste.
Other way around. Jekyll is a classic mad scientist, and he secretly transforms into Ned Flanders.
It's kinda cool that on full moons a good creature keeps showing up and aiding the heroes and thwarting the BBEGs lieutenants, and it turns out it's the BBEG who can't remember doing it; It's a good way to color them an nuanced and not entirely evil while still hamming up the campy villainy the rest of the time.
