Seriously? Does @rimu@piefed.social know about this? Commies bad, I get it. But this is a slippery slope. This is too much politics.
Yesterday it was the flag of the Hong Kong pro-democracy movement, before that it was Palestine, before that it was Tibet, before that it was Ukraine.
It's not directed against any one country, government or political party. It is against authoritarianism wherever it occurs and all it's forms.
Why? Don't you think it might turn many people off? This sends the message like "we are aware of policitcs on PieFed and we have strong opinions on a lot of topics here. You can speak, we let you speak. This site is all about politics".
And it might end up being all about politics just like you wish. And I don't think it's a good idea. I think it's better to create a chill space for people. Allowing politics disucssion of course, but this right here and what you just said sends "politics-first" kind of vibes.
Haha no that’s boomer sensibility shit. Anti-authoritarianism is always good to see, and it is fine to meld it into every day life. The authoritarian fascists will be in your every day life if you try not to care about them anyway.
