VPNs are pretty readily available and while technically not legal there’s no enforcement. It’s an annoyance but not much more.

it's literally them using the whole piracy vs streaming service effect to do internet protectionism imo lol, people will pay for stuff when it's convienent but when you make it annoying (having to swap between several apps while paying 100+ a month etc.), they will just start pirating again. same thing here, make it kinda annoying to access the rest of the internet (which is dominated by english speakers anyways) and the average person just goes "eh fuck that, ima just login to XHS or whatever"
