Speaking off Saudis its kinda weird they are buying all up wrestling, comedy, and now gaming (EA). Like just skip the bread part just go full on circus.

It's pretty shrewd of them, they probably recognise that the US is going to start quite a few messy wars as they collapse and they want to make sure they don't become a target of one of them. Or it could just be a bog standard maximising profit thing I guess.

I have suspicions it's some kind of restrictions since 70s, that they can't buy real shit (tm), only ip related things, which can be easily disentangled. e.g. nippon steel couldn't buy us steel mill and the likes, similarly. they can build their own stuff, they can't outright buy local american porky business outside of minority share, which gives them no rights and no power, outside of dividend stream.
