No, more of a bounty hunter or mercenary than anything. Its just that her story of being a sole survivor transforming into a 'got nothing left to lose' gun-slinger happens offscreen for the player so it seems like she had a sudden jump in personality if you're not paying attention.
Honestly was disappointed it didn't happen on-screen. She should have gotten to come along on some jobs and have conversations with Arthur that led her to that path instead of the relatively quick transition off-screen.
