ed: As someone noted below, I'm assuming it is just supposed to be a mockery of Israelis saying they're 'holding back the tide of Islam' otherwise it makes no sense
Israel is funded by the global right but it launders some of that money back into those political movements to ensure they remain Zionist. The Israelis are quite paranoid about getting the South Africa treatment. They've prepared against it.
