Well, yeah, but what is the motive for the terrorism, I mean.

Terrorism is violence with a political goal. So what is the political goal of this?

To discourage anyone slightly left of bat-guano insane evangelical right from running or legislating against bat-guano insane evangelical right agendas, I would imagine, but I can be wrong.
